Angkot Ride

Well hey, today I rode Angkot. Angkot is stands for Angkutan Kota (Indonesian, literally means : City Picker). It's actually a car that have side door and sideways chair (one at the left and one at the right). Ooh, and also small chair at the front side and normal chair that every car have at the front. If my explaining is not so well, then search in Google and type “Angkot” or “Angkutan Kota.”

Why I rode Angkot? Because I went to my university today. I want to pay some money to the committee of organization in my major. Hm... if you kind of confuse what I mean maybe because the system of student organization in Indonesia is different than yours. No problem, keep it reading, eh?

Back to the Angkot.

Unlike the bus that have a schedule (or.. I mean “foreign bus”, where it has systematical come and go schedule), you can stop the Angkot by just stand at the side of the way, and when Angkot come, put your baby face on, wave a bit, and its automatically stops! I don't know how the driver know when we want to get on the Angkot, such as they have a radar.

If you're lucky, you can ride Angkot by only 3 or 5 people in it. Huh, but abandon your hope, because you will not that lucky!

“Angkot is such a sardines can,” said my sister. She got the point I think. Because the driver needs money, a lot of money everyday, so he have to carry as much as the Angkot can take a rider. Minimum specification is 7 at the left ,5 at the right, 2 at the front side, 2 at the “normal chair” at the front, and if not so lucky, maybe two at the door side, hanging over.

If you want to stop just say “kiri”, that's means “left”, and Angkot will stop at the left side of the road. Angkot can't bring you to the specific address like Taxi, it only go to one point to one point. The destination of each Angkot written at the front and the back of the car. So be careful, maybe you can get lost if you pick a wrong Angkot. And also be careful to stop where you have to stop, or you'll get too far.

For the pricing, hm.. I don't know how the driver made them, but I think its depend on the distance. If it's near it will cost about $ 0.1 and if it's far it will cost $ 0.25 . Cheap isn't it? Yeah, but if you have a really far distance maybe you have to change Angkot because they have different path. Like me, I have to take at least 3 Angkot from home to the University. That's really far. Twice for sort distance and once for far distance, that took $ 0.45. And for went home I took only once sort distance and once far distance, so it will be $ 0.35. So for a day I'll spend $ 0.8. Quite cheap, but in that uncomfortable facility.

So, are you backpacker or want to travel around and your budget isn't big enough? Try Angkot instead, and feel the Indonesia way for ride (hohoho).

What have I done??

In this week? Okay.. let me start from... 25 July

That was my birthday. I went to some kind of restaurant call "Ayam Tulang Lunak". In English it means "Soft Bone Chicken". What so special about it? Well.. the bone of the fried chicken itself wasn't stiff anymore. What I can tell you? Er... When you bite it, it will shatter, and.. delicious.

Oh well, but when we came there, "I am sorry, the stock is empty," and we ate the stiff one instead eaten by the hungry stomach.

Boring boring boring.... my birthday is so boring. Anyway, thanks guys for the congrat thingy that you put on my facebook's wall. And.. for the gift that you give, a box of emptiness, I really appreciate that

And.. I learnt French a bit. Well, I can tell you, if you feel boring when you gone online, then learn French is better than watching porn. Hey! Really!
I learn the French from BBC website. Er... I still do the reaallllly basic stuff like Bonjour, C'est magnifique, Monsieur, Mademoiselle, Madame, etc... and... the number, oh! I forgot them!

And.. the interesting part this week, I learnt Rubiks cube solving. You know, how to make the Rubiks cube from the Jumbled one to be the solved one. I've got the video from my cousin, Bowi. Thank's bro!
Anyway, he got it from youtube

Oh yeah! I forgot! I also made a forum called Komunitas Online SMANSA Sampit. Phew, what a long name. SMANSA is stand for Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri Satu, means National High School One. Sampit is my town. So the forum name means "Online Community of Sampit's National High School One."
Because it's really tiring to say so, I decided to cut it up to be KOSMAS (you know, the derivative of Komunitas Online SMAnsa Sampit, look the capital letter).

Oh well, and I created the forum in forumotion.com. I think forumotion is great facilitator and hosting of forum creation.

Here our forum address : http://komunitassmansa.forumotion.com

why not kosma.forumotion? Because I realize the "kosma" word after made the forum and I have announce the address to the other, so.. that's it.

Forum
Oh, I have ever created the forum with the same topic before, in sman1sampit.forumotion, but.. I forgot the password, and.. I don't really like the structure, so.. why not create a new one? right?

Hey, I've just realized blogger post editing can paste the image from the other site. Cool! You don't have to click-click-click to put up some images.

And... tomorrow? never know
